A delicious tale of love and friendship, exploring the past and learning to live with the memories that have made us.

Four (unexpectedly not so) strangers sign up to legendary author Jan Goldsteins writing retreat and embark on a journey of self discovery as the past confronts the present. Over three days we learn so much from the four main POVs as each characters narrative play out in present time and flashbacks to their most painful memories. The ones that shaped them, the ones they are trying to write about.

The characters are portrayed so vibrantly they sing from the pages creating a kaleidoscope of colourful people swirling in front of you as you read with each heartbreaking journey laid bare before you.

A wonderfully enjoyable story that will stay with me for some time 🤩

With huge thanks to Hatchette for the gifted copy The Long Weekend is available from 1 December and would make the perfect stocking filler for all romance and feel good story lovers.

Four perfect strangers. Three days. Can one weekend away change your life? The unputdownable new drama by one of Australia's most beloved storytellers

Coming together for a writing workshop with bestselling author Jan Goldstein, four strangers converge upon a luxury forest retreat. But along with their notepads and laptops, each of the participants has brought some emotional baggage.

Beth is a solo parent and busy career woman haunted by a tragic car accident. Simone, the youngest at 26, is a successful Instagram star but she's hiding behind a facade. Jamie is the only man. He's a handsome personal trainer - but he looks out of place with a pen in his hand. Finally, Alice is a wife and mum recovering from post-natal depression. She and Jamie soon realise they are not such perfect strangers after all.

Only one thing is for sure: on this creative getaway, nothing will go according to script.
