The latest novel from Ben Mezrich, who I have been a fan of for a long time, doesn't disappoint. Taking on from where the Accidental Billionaires (the Social Network) finished, this is the story of how the Winklevoss twins took a punt on the Crypto market long before we were reading about it in newspapers, hearing about it on the news and getting told by taxi drivers that its the next big thing.
Working in finance I had a natural affinity with this book, but the story of the twins journey is a fascinating one even if you have no interest in the workings of block chain technology, ripple or whatever the latest incarnation is.
Mezrich's ability to combine history, factual content and to tell a ripping story is a pretty unique talent which he has delivered on in the past, does again here and no doubt will do again.
Some will feel that the book is written from a pro-Winklevoss / anti-Zuckerberg stance possibly with some merit, but this certainly isn't the first and won't be the last piece of writing to take that view and I didn't feel it detracted from the enjoyment of the book.
3.5/5 - I'm looking forward to seeing the inevitable movie release and wonder what Pop Culture movement Mezrich will jump on for his next story!
