⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ PUBLICATION DAY BOOK REVIEW by her 20 July 2021

Firstly THANK YOU to Lisa and Penguin Random House for so kindly sending me an ARC of The Night She Disappeared in exchange for an honest review and participation in the launch event.

I am a big fan of Lisa Jewell and her style of writing and true to form this book most certainly lived up to my high expectations, in fact I think this is the best book of hers I have read to date.

Kim is looking after her 19 year old daughter Tallulah's baby, while Tallulah enjoys a rare night out with her overprotective, somewhat manipulative live-in boyfriend Zach. As the story rolls on we find out the young couple have gone to a "pool party" at Tallulah's friend Scarlett's house, a huge and very isolated manor house called Dark House - and they never come home. The story takes place over two main timelines - the night (and lead up there to) of the couples disappearance - and a year on, when head teacher Shaun and his detective-novel writing girlfriend move into a cottage on the college grounds near Dark Places. Sophie teams up with Kim to relaunch the investigation into Tallulah's disappearance after Sophie finds a "dig here" sign at the bottom of her garden that uncovers new evidence.

I loved how the story bounces around the two timelines, it really adds to the suspense and drama and I found myself reading "just one more page" until well into the night. An absolutely gripping thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat. I really enjoyed all the characters, Kim and Dom's relationship is so cute and I was desperate for it to go a little further.

All in all I cannot recommend this book highly enough, if you have never read a Lisa Jewell, BUY THIS BOOK - you are in for a real treat and will be introduced to a true queen of the genre, and if you have read her books before, you will not be disappointed. A without a doubt 5 star book for me!
